Developing and maintaining a viable Business Continuity Plan is vital. We make it easy with our online, CU Recover system. CU Recover plan development enables your organization to spend more time on strategic initiatives and less time focused on Business Continuity Planning.
Ongoing Operations’ planning services integrate the Business Impact Analysis, plan development, plan maintenance, plan testing and plan hosting into a total solution.
Plan Development
Ongoing Operations associates facilitate a series of meetings, generally over a 2-day period, with key staff to document and begin building a business continuity plan. We use a standardized methodology that has been deployed successfully in over 100 credit unions. Our process covers the following key areas:
- Business Impact Analysis
- Departmental Recovery Plans
- Key Contact Development
- Maintenance Schedule and Monitoring
- Recovery Team Development
The most significant difference between the CU Recover methodology and other companies offering planning services is that we focus on making business continuity planning an organization wide initiative and process. At the end of the process your credit union is delivered a plan that is maintainable by each business unit and recovery team. This means that the plan covers your true business recovery, not just Information Technology recovery. It also means that no one person is responsible for the plan.
Next Steps
Once the plan is developed and approved, it is made available through the CU Recover hosting platform. This platform consists of a redundant and secure website where the plan can be maintained and monitored. The plan integrates with most Microsoft Office functionality and makes meeting NCUA requirements easy.
Maintenance and Monitoring
Once the plan is complete, the Maintenance Schedule and Monitoring program is enabled. This program includes automated updates to users asking them to review their contact information and their respective plan documents in regular intervals that you choose. It also allows Ongoing Operations to make sure the plan is updated regularly, provide regular status reports to the Executive Team, and coordinate any additional testing that is required. Each year Ongoing Operations will help coordinate tests, ensure documentation is updated, obtain updated Emergency Contact Information and provide a letter of certification.
We also offer facilitated tabletop exercises to help you continually improve your plan. In addition, the Incident Command Dashboard available within CU Recover and integration with the Crisis Management Notification System can help you quickly and efficiently respond to emergency situations.
